SpletTREATMENT: Balloon valvuloplasty is the treatment used for valvular pulmonic stenosis. Not every dog with this defect can be helped by this procedure. Some dogs have dramatic improvement while others have adequate results. Echocardiographic examination can give indicators of dogs that are most likely to be helped. Spletmur was documented in 481 (92.5%) dogs. Dogs with-out a murmur had right-to-left shunting or very small left-to-right shunting PDA. There were 15 dogs with right-to-left shunting PDA and 2 dogs with bidirec-tional shunting diagnosed by a combination of visuali-zation of the PDA, color Doppler imaging, and agitated saline injections.
